Smosh...in the library?!

Madison and I are sitting here on the balcony, facing the parking lot. Different location. Kinda. It's better than sitting, facing the entrance because I'm not so tempted to look who is coming in and out of the library. Haha.

So we have been contemplating whether this kid sitting over by the other windows looks like Anthony Padilla from Smosh.  Madison is totally convinced that he does.

So Anthony is part of a duo that makes YouTube videos (funny stuff). Anywho...we can't decide because we haven't found a decent picture of Anthony, except for this bathtub one from his sexy calendar. Oh geeze. Seriously though?! You'd think with all those YouTube videos that he would have some good photographs. Oh well. Our contemplation shall continue as we continue our homework, but apparently I have no say in the matter, so it's final. The kid in the corner looks like Anthony, according to Madison.

In other news, we had the Senate awards tonight, and guess where everyone went afterward? Oh yeah...the library!  A lot of them were all dressed up because we yet again forgot to take the Senate group picture. LAME.  But yeah, Madison and I definitely walked into the library and saw Sam, K-Scall, Jedidiah, Andrew, Brian, Scott, and lots more. Hahaha It was like an ASUP party in the library. What what!?

So...Rick has a funny story for you guys, which definitely gives us hope for taking pictures with some people in the lib. 

Anyway, must get back to work. Hope the start of dead week hasn't been too grueling yet.

Another Wednesday night in the library. You know what that means: 15MG (thanks to Rick for the abbreviation)! If you don't know who I'm talking about, well, apparently you haven't been following along. 

Anywho, Rick and I were exiled once again from our usual spot.  Come on people!  Our blog hasn't been the same since we keep having to move!  This time we were in the cubby desks.  Rick and I sat across from each other while Sam sat next to me.  I'd say it was a somewhat productive night.  I still have a load of work to do.  Bah. Study break, right now (in case you couldn't tell).  So yeah, Rick made fun of me about 15MG, but Evan and he do it all the time so it's no surprise.

Not much interaction with the usual library folk.  Andrew was perched on the balcony, and we were directly below him.  He didn't even stop by to talk to us when he came down to the main floor. Sad day (I guess).  Then when he was leaving, I called out to him, and he turned his head like he heard me but kept walking. Oh well. I see how it is. J/K...but really. 

So yeah, if you haven't guest starred in our blog, you should try to head over there sometime in the next couple weeks because time is running out! Yikes! You know you want to be included.  Email, Facebook, call, text, etc. us and let us know if you're in the library because most likely than not, we'll be there.  You can always do what Hillary did as well.  Make a request and we'll make it happen! Separated.

I decided to head back to the original spot where this blog started, while Rick was stationed at the table.  He needed the space for all this papers and books, which already took up half the table before I got to the library.  No worries, Rick!

Madison and I worked on homework as usual and occasionally people watched, mostly seeing how Rick was doing, especially after sending him a text message.  Ah...you know you all text other people who are in the library too! But yeah, pretty chill day in the library.

No warning to leave from 15 minutes guy because he decided to tell the people next to us instead of actually telling us. Uh hello? Headphones. Loud music. Not listening to voices.  Whatev.  We got the gist when Ben (another library worker) started shutting down the lights.  He's Madison's supervisor, so yeah.

Anyone notice that the library closes closer to midnight nowadays?  Pretty sure that's thanks to Andrew Hansen and his comment on SpeakUP.  Well, it's more realistic to have that closing time posted.  I just hope it doesn't get abused by students who want the library to be open even longer.

P.S. Forgot another update from Monday.  I called Madison, seeing if she was in the library.  Sure enough, she was sitting on the floor in the foyer area. It was funny because I was standing outside of the library and could totally see her sitting there.  Adam was with me because we just attended a Relay for Life meeting...

So yeah, I sat down with Madison. Who knew that the floor at the entrance of the library is heated? It's like those seats in cars that are heated.  It was kinda weird because it kind of felt like someone else had sat there before...you know that feeling?  Anywho, Madison went to work, while I found a table to work at.  Yup...and that's how my Easter Break ended...in the library. Perfect....not.

Haha. I was super tired by the time I left the library that when I was packing up I got up and stretched up against the wall.

It was awkward, it could have been thought of as seductive.

Andrew Hansen saw me stretching and told me, "Don't ever stretch like that again."

You'd be surprised ...

If you were me, or even Tarra in the library during these next few stressful weeks of school. In Tarra's case, the last few weeks of school here at UP, you'd be surprised at what goes on here in the library.

You'd think that the people would be more solemn, studious, and maybe even a little quieter. Besides the fact that we are all studious, students are still trying to find ways to not seem so stressful. Study groups that are occasionally laughing at a funny class-related joke. Those are always the best, haha.

Anyways, after a night of Biology, it's nice to just be able to write on the blog; especially since I don't write often ... (ha?)

I have two options of updating on past events, I can start from the past events this week to the present events or I can simply do the opposite of that. I'll choose option one!

From the last time that I wrote, I was talking about the dumb chub shelf, as Tarra refers to it. But since then obviously stuff has happened. For instance, not only is there a dumb shelf that no one likes, there is a computer that doesn't log you off.

On one account Tarra had been logged into the computer when she had updated a blog and she wasn't logged out until later that night when we were here again. COMPUTER FAIL. (I might be wrong on that blog link, but it was a blog she was updating).

On a personal account I had used the same printer without even thinking that it was the same computer that Tarra had used. On both accounts though, we went to Scott [he is the lab assistant anyways,. who better to ask?]

Shortly after that we had Easter weekend. I made no efforts to come near the library at all. I needed some good time away from the library. It was also closed, so I couldn't get in even if I wanted to get it, ha.

On a special occasion when Tarra and I were here at the library we got to take a picture of the "infamous puddle"

If you know what puddle I'm talking about, you are aware of how ridiculous this puddle is. It not only is in front of the library entrance, but it grows when there is more rain. Tarra and I have been meaning to blog about this puddle because of how many encounters we've had with it. More than once this semester - HECK more than 100 times this [that might be pushing it] semester have we stepped in that puddle.

It's one of those puddles that you think you'll avoid, but you don't. So many times have I had a wet sock walking back to Villa because of that damn puddle.

That night Tarra took the picture of the puddle was the day that it was just an ultimate down pour! That was also my encounter with the puddle before I even turned the corner to come into the library - it had grown past it's normal boundaries. It's as if this damn puddle is after Tarra and I!

I can now talk about Tuesday. Tuesday in the library was definitely a work day for Tarra and I. First off, we didn't get out table we wanted because someone was sitting there (jerks). That is our table, haha.

I've never been so mad trying to sit at a table X)

But yesterday was definitely a work day. I worked on chemistry homework all last night. Luckily I was able to work on studying for my philosophy quiz earlier that day!

OH YEAH!! DUCEY WAS HERE IN THE LIBRARY - Just to say hi to us, haha.

Today was one hell of a day. People dancing in the middle of the library. People acting like they have swag [Andrew Hansen]. People working their butts off. More people who steal our tables. It's insane! In the midst of all of this though I've been able to work on some biology. Both for lecture and lab (augh. shoot me now).

Luck of the Irish...

...in the library? It's Wednesday night, and even though it's St. Patrick's Day, we managed to go to the library to hit the books. Way to go studious studs! ;)

By the way...here's a video about the history of St. Patrick's Day just for the fun of it.

Back in the corner table with Sam and K-Scall, we got some work done. I found my artifacts for my capstone at the Multnomah County Library. I just hope that I can actually get all of them. That would be most excellent.

Rick came by a little later after FISH. He got to sing during FISH today. Not sure how it went though because I was in class/EspressoUP/library. Anywho, he joined us and started working with us as well.

Rick was wondering where Scott was because again he thought Scott was working. Nope. Scott was working with Brooks Broom over yonder. haha

I'm totally blanking right now about what happened in the library tonight, even though I know Rick and I shared some really good laughs. Like that one time when I posted a picture on Moodle Up about pilots.up.edu, and I put the wrong one up. hahaha Oh man...good times! The right one is up now, folks (featured here because apparently I lost the original...whoops).


Also, Rick and Colin discovered a misspelling in a Relay for Life chalk advertisement in front of Mehling Hall - Rely for Life?!?! I also had some random giggle attacks. Shoot.

Jeff wondered around the lib with 3-D glasses because you know everything is better in 3-D! Looking snazzy, best friend! ;)

Rick and I stayed until the lights went out. We're pretty convinced that they keep turning off earlier and earlier as we stay until closing. But yeah, as we were leaving, we ran into Andrew. Yesterday we bought some sweet Dirty Finch shirts! Rick and I got them today, so we'll definitely need to wear them to the lib and take some pictures! Woot! :)

Which reminds me that I never really got around to writing about Tuesday's time in the library. It was pretty funny as we talked to Andrew about buying shirts because he thought we were shaky customers. Whatever. We bought shirts. What now?!

Other than that, I remember writing for class. Wow, that took forever, but the writing doesn't stop there. Yeah, pretty much, especially since I'm working toward being a journalist.

But yeah, off to writing more papers! Catch ya in the library tomorrow! ;)

I'm sorry that we can't deliver your demanding requests to have pictures and stories up with the same crowd as last night - Hansen, Olberding, and Dorwart. Hansen left. Olberding is working. Dorwart is on duty in Corrado. Sorry friend.

He's 22 now ... O_o [that's pretty darn old. not really]

Aside from his sweet wolf shirt, that he requested to be in the picture, he not only get's this birthday blog, BUT he got a Photobooth-Photoshoot! I know, right? Awesome!

So, you know I was in the library today around 6:30ish working away on this Fine Arts presentation on photography. I was feeling pretty cool rockin' my yellow shirt and my longer hair; it's the first yellow shirt that has ever looked good on me. I worked SUPER hard on this presentation because I have to make it look like I worked on it during Spring Break [I always do this to myself]. In my opinion it's a pretty rockin' presentation. Full of photos and everything [Just like how this blog will be]!

Anyways, I'm working, right? Then out of no where, like this bunny that hopped into my leg over spring break, Andrew Hansen comes up to me and is all, "Is Tarra coming tonight?"

I'm all, "Yeah, but she's at the store right now. Why?"

Then he's all, "I need to talk to her about CPB related stuff for our FLOOD event." [BTW, I'm going, all the reasons for you to go too]

Like magic, Tarra just walks in and Andrew is all "Tarra!" and she doesn't hear him so I'm all "TARRA!" and she hears me and comes over. Then Andrew and her go at this conversation and what not. It was pretty gnarly. We had fun describing to him who Aaron Morris was, as Tarra said ... "He's tall ..." REALLY!? He's Tall? That's it? haha

Between events, this kid name Jeff Makjavich came over and Tarra and I took some pictures with him. We look pretty gangsta if you know what I mean. Well, I don't really mean anything, I'm just saying that we looked gangsta and that you guys should definitely feel jealous because you wish you were us. Also, Madison came by and visited me when I was taking pictures of myself [I have a problem ...]. Yeah, so I got some sweet pictures with Madison, more like a picture with Madison. Sorry Tarra that you didn't get one :(

MOVING ON! So Kristina had some problems with her contacts and they made her eyes BLOOD-SHOT RED!! She was definitely smoking some weed up there on the balcony. Probably doing some with Madison .. whores [JUST KIDDING]. If you look closely at the picture - her eyes are red.

Did you know: Sometimes when you're eyes are red, it's because you popped a vessel in your eye? Yeah I know, pretty weird! It's like your learned something new today.

Before I diverge off the track of "Library Adventures" I'll get back on the path. Kristina went to go back to work on physiology [?]. Tarra and I proceeded to get our iPods in sync while listening to "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga. It's the theme of the Spring Dance. If you're going get your tickets now because only 500 are being sold, well less than that after today! We were gonna make this sweet gnarly video, but alas we didn't. Sad panda! Break my heart, ha. Right after that we took a picture with Sam Riofta! She's a quick one, we took two, Tarra and I look away for a nano-second and then ... Sam was gone!! O_O

At this point in the adventure, Scott came around and we took the above photo with him. He's old. But he still looks REALLY young. 22? AHHH. That's like a whole 3 years older than me, not really more like 2 3/4 older than me because today is my 1/4 birthday! YAY!!

I ALMOST FORGOT!! We had a new special guest come our way today. Unfortunately, today will probably be the only day that we'll see him in the library. You're probably all, "Rick tell us who the hell this person is. It's not like it's the president or something. Just tell us"

Well, you're wrong. He is the President Elect [to be formally correct], COLIN DORWART!! He was returning some books that were due during Spring Break.

I kind of have a problem about that once I heard about it. Books due during Spring Break? Why not before? Why not after? That makes more logical sense to me. Does it not make logical sense to you?

Yeah, that's about it. I went back to go work on some Chemistry which I finished up, but I still have a ton more to do [so I didn't really finish anything up]. Tarra proceeded to fall asleep [I might be wrong ...]. She most likely did whether or not I'm right.

That was the eventful night. For those of you reading, I wrote this with the intentions of my "story" voice on. I'll read it out loud sometime for the masses to full get the effect of what I was trying to say. When they turned the lights off which was our cue to leave, all Tarra and I could do was sulk in our sorrow because we were so sad that such an eventful night in the library had ended :(

Now that you're "2 decades and a 1/5 of a decade" years old. I really hope that you take this time to think about the years that have gone by. Your teens have obviously slipped away at this point, making them merely the past - a memory. Hold onto those memories and cherish them. But don't hold on too tight because before you know - LIFE will begin. Think about it, turning 22 your life is just now about to start. So I hope you had a great day.

Spring Break ... In the library X)

So yesterday, well now that I think about it - two days ago (Tuesday) I went to the library. Fearing I was going to be the only one there except for the workers I walked in...

To my surprise, there were other people there too that were doing the same thing as me - homework. Before I get too off topic [ha] WHO THE HECK GIVES OUT HOMEWORK DURING SPRING BREAK!?

That's right, University of Portland, haha.

Aside from knowing that Madison was in the library working, I knew no one else, so I went on with my day doing my Chemistry reading (AUGH)!

That was the end of that, ha.


Moving onto yesterday (Wednesday), there were definitely less people there, or maybe that was because I went quite early this time. Either way, I did the same - chemistry. But lo and behold I saw a familiar face with a familiar t-shirt on. It was quite exciting seeing someone I knew that wasn't a worker. Who might this person be you ask? ANDREW HANSEN!! He's Tarra's library friend, if you didn't know :P

That's all for now. Probably won't have enough time to go into the library tomorrow, so with that I kind of hope it's a dull and boring place tomorrow.

More Adventures of Tarra & Sam (and Rick, too)

Tonight (and by tonight, I mean Wednesday night) in the library was interesting. Let's start out chronologically and then break it down...

I got out of class early, headed to EspressoUP to find Sam and a bunch of other friends. After a while, Sam and I decided to go to the library to work (aka her Cancer exam and CPB things).

On the second floor, we found Andrew jumping in between the book stacks. Erm...why? I have no idea, but I assume he was getting his picture taken or something. I mean, no one just does that in the library, right? He stopped and talked to me and Sam. :)

We proceeded to the study room, thinking it would be quieter for working. Boy were we wrong! The study room next door was playing loud music...what the heck?! Lucky for us, we found a pair of computers on the main floor, which is where we were stationed for the rest of the night.

While working on the computers and talking with each other, we had a couple visitors, including the one and only Rick Baleros! Ha! He came and sat at a computer behind Sam and me...because he didn't wany people to know he was on Facebook. Sheesh.

Anyway, Andrew was the most frequent visitor.

1. He tried scaring Sam, but she just looked annoyed when he did so. Apparently I look confused.

2. He scared me by placing a stapler on my keyboard. I swear I thought he was going to attack me with the stapler; although I'm not sure what the motive behind that would be...

3. This might be the same encounter as #2, but we had a quick discussion about names. Mostly because I like saying his name, and well, my first name isn't exactly the easiest to pronounce at first glance. Nevertheless it was an interesting conversation.

4. Lastly, he came by as he was leaving the library. He placed the stapler on Sam's things and attempted to place the 3-hole punch on my things. Fail. He only got a hold of part of it, and it came apart, making a loud noise. Oh wow! hahaha

It was cool talking to Andrew tonight. I feel like I only see him in the library nowadays. *sigh*

Jeff came around every once in a while, so that was cool. According to Rick, his jacket was "silky smooth," or something like that.

Rick thought Scott wasn't in the library and was sad about that, which he told me through text: "Sad, Scott isn't working the desk :(." I pointed out to him that Scott was actually on the other side of the room instead of at the tech desk in the computer lab. hahaha

So although I wrote that one post about "creeping" and "stalking," I gotta admit that we actually do stalk one person in the library - 15 minutes guy. Really though! We don't talk to him unless he tells us there's 15 minutes left in the library (like he did tonight) or if we need some help with something. For example, tonight, there weren't any staples in the stapler, so I took it and asked him at the front desk. I felt like Cady in Mean Girls when she only talks to Aaron in Calculus about minuscule things, you know what I mean? I mean it's different in a sense. Anywho, we have confirmation that his name is Ryan, which I suppose is helpful if we ever decide to talk to him. Blah. Oh well.

Alli came over and took Sam home.

Rick was conversing with me on Facebook, clogging up my computer, so it took forever to send my CPB weekly update! Shoot! I finished it though (thank goodness)! :)

BEFORE THE LIBRARY

I went to the speeches tonight for the ASUP Candidates. They all did an awesome job tonight. People better get on their voting on February 23rd and 24th! YOUR VOTE COUNTS! (Really, it does).

THE LIBRARY ...
So I was at speeches with Kristina Large, who happened to accompany me on my nightly adventure to the library. We first went to The Cove to get her a drink because she was thirsty. We then of course traversed to the library. We walked in. I then resumed my creeper status: before you read on, let's clarify something, Tarra and I might be creepin on people we know, but it's not creepin if we write about it in our adventures ... 1) See who is at the Lab Assistant Desk [Olberding of course]. Scott is also one of our regulars. Well, now that I think about it, I don't think he can be considered one of our regular goers ... he works there, haha. You be the judge of that one, ha. Moving on from creepin the Lab Assistant Desk I then: 2) Checked the balcony to see any familiar faces [I'm not surprised that it's Hansen and Makjavich that I see]. I also saw a good-looking dude named Jackson Martin. He's pretty awesome. He plays tennis. I played tennis, haha. After my usual balcony check I always scope out the ground floor. 3) I spotted Rizzo, who dressed down from her speech attire, and Fugle, who was out of his dress suit and into his sleep wear.

Of course we also saw other faces, Like Madison's and Margies' :)

It's always nice to see friends here. Margie was really shy and didn't want a picture. She said "I look nasty" or something along the lines of that, haha. Unfortunately Margie, we all looked not so hot anymore. It was of course late at night, the good looks from the beginning of the day had worn off and the look of "morning" was making an appearance on our faces.

So I realize I've mostly been writing about who I've seen in the library, and not necessarily what I've done in the library. Obviously I've been going to the library not only to continue this blog, but to get work done son! Of course stories are bound to happen from the Library. Like on Saturday when I went I failed to mention the fact that It was a successful day of being in the library and doing research. Then on Sunday I didn't tell you guys that I had a really good conversation with Sam about Senate and me wanting to run for Executive Board sometime down the road (we'll see how that goes). We also talked about the fact that there just aren't a lot of Science majors in the Senate. That made me super sad. ALSO, I found Harry Potter in Spanish in the Children's Section of the library - CHECK THAT STUFF OUT! On Monday, I had the pleasure of seeing a few people that were tagged in the blog check it out! Man, this blog has definitely reached a new status. Enough about the past, let's get to today's story!

So Madison was petting my hair because I guess it's really soft? I don't know what it is with people about wanting to pet my hair. When I buzzed it to 1/8 a lot of people just wanted to pet my hair because it looked fuzzy or soft. Well, as Madison was petting my head, I was talking to Rizzo and just letting her know she did a good job tonight and my thoughts on Senate next year. She petted my hair as well after Madison prompted her to do so. Mind you, my only connection to Rizzo is through Senate. Her petting my hair was equivalent to that random guy in the commons who asked if "everyone got to rub my head".

Another day. Another Monday.

It's Monday, the 6th Monday of the semester. I forgot that today was President's Day - thanks to all the pre-frosh who reminded me of this momentous day.

Today really is one of those days though. I fought with myself to actually come to the library tonight. I didn't even want to do homework, ha. I just have my Theology book open to make it look like I'm doing something. Only the people behind me creepin really know what I'm doing...


Anyways, on to the better news. I realized I feel like a stalker when I walk into the Library, haha. Checking if I know the person working at the Lab Assistant desk. At this time of the day, it's usually Olberding.

Then I always walk in and scope out the people I know. Like right now from where I'm sitting on the balcony I can see Rizzo sitting at her computer and just typing away and looking at papers too.

I can also see that Brooms is texting and working on an Excel Sheet (business majors, haha).

Again, I can see Olberding perched in his little desk in the other computer lab.

I know right behind me is Makjavich and Hansen (our regulars) haha. Fugle was here, but alas, I don't know where he went.

I'm really tired, but I've decided I'm gonna read for Theology :)

BREAK TIME!!

Well, hello there friends and family. I am broadcasting this blog from the 2nd floor of the Library.

I must say, it feels nice to be back in the correct spot and the right floor. Anyways, it's a calm Sunday afternoon and of course, there are a bunch of people in the library doing homework. Spending so much time in the library I get a kick out of seeing all the people I know, haha.

For instance, I saw Sir Jeff Makjavich hiding behind a fake plant pretending to read.

Within the stacks I saw Andrew Hansen trying to find a book - maybe he was just hiding because he knows Tarra and I keep a tabs on him while we're in the library.

Not to far was Fugle getting in touch with his spiritual side as he worked on that infamous class known as BibTrad...

THIS JUST IN, SAM RIOFTA HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING! IT'S A PARTY NOW FOLKS!

This is such a great way to spend the good ol' Valentines day, you know - in the library. Doing homework. By ourselves ... (haha)

This is Lia Samieenejad, the newest member to our Chronicles in the Library. She was working on Chemistry. An ex-senator (like myself). Hopefully we'll be seeing more of her as this semester goes on.

I walked into the Library around 2:30 with my Chemistry Lab group (I don't like Engineers, some of them at least). You might be asking, "Who goes to the library on a Saturday?"

Well, more than just me, haha. I walk in and look up at the balcony, which looked like a deserted island, but lo and behold, our friend Andrew Hansen is up there working - at least that's what he should be doing.

Then as I walk in further into the depths of the library I see Sir Makjavich reading. Yes, he can read :)

I just gave him a quick hug because I didn't want to interrupt his reading, ha.


Lastly, I'm sitting next to Jedidiah Fugle, our best friend (haha), who is working on BibTrad (a hefty class is what I hear from other people). Hats off to him for even attempting to work on a Saturday afternoon.

Anyways, I'm off to go do some Chemistry homework and then some Biology. Maybe I'll watch a movie tonight since I don't really need to study for anything.



PS. Tarra is in Boston for NACA. I'm here all by myself until Wednesday :(

so tired.

I fell asleep in the library.

In other news, Andrew is accusing Sam of stealing the cashbox, while Jeff claims it was my fault. Both accusations are false. We all know it was just misplaced. Okay and therefore stolen but some third party. I don't even know actually. We can just blame Colton for this mishap....a HUGE mishap.

Alright so Jeff and Andrew were wearing matching yellow shirts. Not sure where Jeff's shirt went after awhile because he wasn't wearing it anymore...Er...alright. Anywho, we wanted to capture their twinsy moment, but they were always on two different levels.

Look at Andrew down there drinking his caffeinated drinks while making weird faces at us on the 2nd floor. He has no idea that we're writing about him right now. Bahahaha...

Well, 9 minutes till closing. I need to crash, and then do some homework. Great.

Sunday Evening

It's Sunday, which is typically when everyone and their mom is in the library.

Rick and I are up on the second balcony. Nothing much happening. Although I'm pretty sure I passed by Andrew and Jeff with extreme determination to get to the second floor. Whoops.

There's a ton of athletes in the library this evening. I felt a tad bit uncomfortable about it, to be honest. I'm not really sure why though.

Anyway, Rick went down to find a computer. Oh wait...He just texted me that his shoes are squeaky. Thanks for the minor update dude! haha

I need to get back to reading before mass. See you there Sam!
